ART CORNER
Last week, I had what could be called my first artistic crisis. I looked at the stuff in my gallery, and realised all of a sudden that I was highly frustrated with the latest artworks I have done. I always enjoyed working with Poser, and adding postwork in Photoshop to the mix helped me to improve my art a lot, but I realised that I was chaining my muse because using Poser adds some serious restrictions to my art bunnies, especially if you enjoy making grand scenes and adding lots of details as much as I do.

So I pondered about that for a while, and finally decided to say Good bye to Poser and make the next step, fully intending to create all my 3D stuff from sketch in Cinema 4D from now on, and to enhance my digital painting skills to boot.

That means that Im spending most of my freetime with Digital Drawing and C4D video tutorials right now, but since Im feeling all excited about it I guess it was the right decision.

So for all of you who are wondering what Im up to right now, take a look at this deviation:

Its my first conceptual art done with Photoshop (and the first time Ive drawn and shaded a building at all), so please be gentle.

For all my fellow KotOR fans these skyscrapers could look somewhat familiar its the planet of Taris, as a part of my planned
Worlds of KotOR series. They are part of the first 3D setting that I want to create, and I chose them because their shapes are relatively simple
or so I hope. The plan is that I create the buildings in C4D and paint the sky/scenery and rest of the postwork with CS3 keep your fingers crossed that it will work.

DEVIANT NEWS
That aside, I have joined #
Realm-of-Fantasy as a moderator a few days ago. It has been one of my favourite groups for a long time, and when they called for new moderators, I decided to help them out.
As far as I can tell, both the members and fellow mods are friendly and talented people and very active, so if youre still looking for a cool group to feature your Fantasy or SciFi art, come and take a look!

And I fully intend to be more active here on my account as well, to answer comments more quickly and to browse your galleries and leave feedback to thank you all for your support.
Lets just hope that my job will co-operate this time.

Cheers, and take good care everyone!

Personally, I don't like Poser, since it's just like a puzzle and you add up bits to make a picture.
Drawing and painting and more complicated 3D software will give you way more freedom.
I think it was just a matter of time before I started to do more digital painting. I first used Poser, then went over to CS3 for postwork reasons and now, with more experience, I want to draw even more with my tablet. It seems like a natural progress, so I'm interested where it will take me.
My current work will have painted hair, clothes, fur and even a self-created background, so there's much potential for frustration there.
I'll be on a business trip this week, so I don't know when I can answer the rest of your comments but I really appreciate that you're taking your time to comment on these artworks and my other journal.
I hope all is well on your side of the ocean?
I totally intend to try my hand on Morrigan and her outfit once I start fiddling with character modelling, so that should fill the 'sexy' bill.
